| Expensive,
high end systems are not required for Internet computers.
Basic systems are all that is needed to browse the web and
exchange e-mail. |

A
less expensive Internet computer
and faster access will give
you better performance than a super fast system with only dial-up
access. Almost any of today's computers are more than adequate
for general Internet use.
You can save over half the cost of a computer system by choosing
one with standard parts instead of top-of-the-line components.
Except
for high-end, online gaming, digital movie editing, or other specialized
applications high speed and performance are not system requirements
for normal Net use.
The
graphics adapter built onto the motherboard, a minimum amount
of memory, a small hard disk, an inexpensive monitor, keyboard
and mouse are all more than adequate for Internet use.
Notebook
computers or all-in-one
systems can be used for working with the Internet, but desktop
sytems are the most cost effective.
A
basic desktop
computer coupled with a standard 17"
CRT monitor will provide you with all the system you need.
You
can use one of these online system configuration tools to get
a system with exactly the configuration you want: Systemax
or Nobilis.
Or
you can select your own components,
but you must be knowledgeable enough to make sure the components
are all compatible with each other.
For
exceptional deals and low prices you can shop discount
and surplus computer sources.
